Are Spelsberg enclosures recyclable and what materials are they made from?
Short answer
Many of our enclosures are made from recyclable materials. We use polypropylene (PP) and polycarbonate across much of the range, and both are fully recyclable. Polypropylene can be recycled through multiple loops without losing its durability, suits both mechanical and chemical recycling processes, and its leachates are considered among the least hazardous when exposed to weathering. We are also certified under the DIN EN ISO 14001 environmental management system, which covers our efforts to reduce environmental impact from product design through to manufacturing.

Polypropylene in particular can be recycled through multiple loops without losing its durability, which makes it a highly sustainable choice for both mechanical and chemical recycling processes. Beyond being recyclable, PP produces minimal environmental impact, as its leachates are considered among the least hazardous when exposed to weathering.
At Spelsberg, green is more than just the colour of our logo: it represents our commitment to sustainability. Over the years we have taken significant steps to reduce harmful substances in our products, and we are certified under the DIN EN ISO 14001 environmental management system. This certification demonstrates our ongoing efforts to reduce the environmental impact across all of our operations, from product design through to manufacturing processes. We are also constantly exploring new materials and processes that benefit both our customers and the environment.
