Dear Daniel,

To protect your electrical equipment outdoors look for enclosures that resist UV radiation, extreme temperatures, moisture, and that has a high impact protection (IK) rating.

The EN 62262 and IEC 62262 standards define IK ratings, which measure an enclosure’s ability to withstand impacts. These ratings range from IK00 (no protection) to IK10 (highest protection). For a detailed explanation of IK impact testing, check out our IK impact test page: https://www.spelsberg.co.uk/customising/testing-laboratory/ul/ik-impact-test/.

Your best choice would be our GEOS enclosures, which are rugged enough for outdoor use. They can resist sunlight, wind, rain, and other harsh conditions, and operate in temperatures from -35°C to 40°C. Additionally, GEOS enclosures have a high IP rating, providing excellent protection against dust and water ingress. They also resist corrosion and chemicals, and offer IK09 impact protection, all ensuring your electrical components are well protected within.

For more details on the GEOS range and to configure your ideal enclosure, visit the Spelsberg GEOS enclosures page: https://www.spelsberg.co.uk/geos-industrial-and-outdoor-enclosures/. Or, if you have any specific questions or requirements, feel free to contact me directly.

Kind Regards,

Chris
